In March of 2014, RMF for DoD IT replaced the former DoD Information Assurance Certification Accreditation Process (DIACAP). Since then, it manages the life-cycle cybersecurity risk for DoD IT and helps to integrate the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), which offers a DoD-approved standardized approach to security assessment and authorization, as well as continuous monitoring. This government-wide program provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud computing. The FedRAMP Joint Authorization Board (JAB) has formally issued a Provisional Authorization to Operate (P-ATO) for GovDataHosting Cloud Platform (GCP) Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering.
